A short guide to your NDIS Core Supports Plan

A short guide to your NDIS Core Supports Plan

Navigating the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can open up a world of possibilities and provide the support needed to live independently and achieve your goals. At iCare, we understand the importance of clarity around your Core Supports NDIS funding, and we’re here to guide you through what it involves.

In this guide, we’ll cover what the Core Supports are, including the various categories and how iCare can assist you in maximising your NDIS Core Supports funding.

What is the NDIS Core Supports plan?

Core Supports are a category of funding in your NDIS plan that help you with everyday activities, needs and goals. Your Core Supports budget is the most flexible and in most cases, you can use your funding across any of the following four support categories.

This budget is flexible and can generally be used across four support categories:

Assistance with Daily Life

Transport

Consumables

Assistance with Social and Community Participation

However, there are instances where your funding might not be as flexible, especially for transport funding.

About each of the 4 core support categories

Assistance with Daily Life (Daily Activities)

This category covers support for everyday personal activities, such as:

Personal care

Assistance with showering, dressing and grooming.

Household tasks

Help with cleaning, cooking and maintaining your home.

Daily skills support

Guidance in learning and developing daily routines.
